Who are the Blue Belles and Sapphires?

Blue Belles is the varsity dance team at Leander High School, made up of sophomores, juniors, and seniors, who perform at football games, pep rallies, competitions, and community events.
Sapphires Performance Co. is the junior‑varsity/non‑varsity dance company created in 2009, designed for dancers with fewer time commitments.

How do students join the teams?

Blue Belles auditions are held in December for the next school year. The season begins in January (Baby Belles) and performances start in August .
Sapphires auditions take place in March, with their season running from July to May .

What is the time committment?

Blue Belles: 10‑month season (July–May), double‑blocked schedule (1st & 5th periods), daily rehearsals, and ~134 performances last season.

Sapphires: Single‑blocked schedule, fewer rehearsals, and around one performance per month.

What does the blue belles booster club do?

The Booster Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the dance teams through fundraising, volunteer coordination, event planning (Holiday & Spring Shows, travel, clinics), and enhancing team morale.

How can I join the Booster Club or volunteer?

All parents/guardians of current team members are considered Booster Club members. Active participation—such as volunteering at events, fundraising, chaperoning—is highly encouraged .

How are Booster Club funds used?

Funds cover choreography, music and costume expenses, travel fees, props, team bonding, team gifts, banquet costs, entry fees, show productions, and more.

Are donations tax‑deductible?

Yes — the Booster Club is a nonprofit and all donations and sponsorships are tax‑deductible as allowed by law.

What performances do the Blue Belles give?

• Holiday Show at the Leander High School PAC (featuring Blue Belles, Sapphires, dance classes, clinics)

• Spring Show – a grand finale showcase

• Regular performances at football and basketball games, pep rallies, parades, and more
